ホテルで過ごし、その街で食事をして、また歩く。

私たちにとって、それはものづくりの一部です。

YOAKでは、新しいプロダクトを考えるとき、一つの場所だけを基準にすることはありません。

街の空気。

建築の素材。

人の歩く速さ。

出会う人たちの個性。

何気なく過ごしたホテルでの時間。

そうした小さな体験の積み重ねが、少しずつアイデアになっていきます。

それは海外だけではありません。日本を旅するときも同じです。

大切なのは、どこへ行くかではなく、どう見るか。

視点を一つの場所に固定しないこと。

それが、YOAKのものづくりの原点です。

今回の旅でも、新しいものを探しに来たわけではありません。

すでに完成したプロダクトを実際に使い、その土地を歩き、撮影をしながら、次のアイデアを探しています。

一つの旅が終わる頃には、新しいプロダクトの輪郭が少し見え始めていることもあります。

このシリーズでは、旅先を紹介したいわけではありません。

歩いた場所。見つけたもの。考えたこと。そして、それがどのようにプロダクトへつながっていくのか。

その過程を、少しずつ記録していきます。

Why We Travel

Travel isn't something extraordinary.

It's about walking through unfamiliar places, seeing different landscapes, staying in a hotel, sharing a meal, and continuing to walk.

For us, it's simply part of the way we create.

When we develop a new product at YOAK, we never rely on a single place for inspiration.

The atmosphere of a city.

The texture of its architecture.

The pace at which people walk.

The personalities we encounter.

Even the quiet moments spent in a hotel.

All of these small experiences gradually become ideas.

This isn't limited to traveling abroad. The same is true when we travel within Japan.

What matters isn't where we go, but how we observe.

Never allowing our perspective to stay fixed in one place.

That is where our approach to making products begins.

On this trip, we weren't searching for something new.

We walked through the city wearing products we've already created, photographed what caught our attention, and quietly looked for the next idea.

By the time a journey comes to an end, the outline of a new product has often begun to emerge.

This series isn't about introducing destinations.

It's a record of the places we've walked, the things we've noticed, the thoughts we've had, and how those experiences gradually become products.
